Plans And Purse Must Be Aligned

A WEDDING can be as simple and enjoyable or as complicated and difficult as the bride and groom desire.
But, generally speaking, there are at least five key points that all but the most basic of weddings have in common. If those points are addressed there's every chance that the big day will go off without a hitch. Ignore one or more and there could be a problem. The old adage that those who fail to plan, plan to fail, is never more true than when it comes to wedding arrangements. The first and most obvious consideration is the time and date of the nuptials. For some couples when and where is the only consideration. Everything else can flow once that is established. The amount of money available to splurge on the wedding is the next thing that needs to be considered. The budget is what will dictate the venue, the meal, the music and even the honeymoon location. The style of the wedding is something that should be settled on early. Is it going to be a religious service in a church, a low-key function in a park, a beachside celebration or something in between? Knowing the budget and the venue, the next thing to decide is the guest list. Often it will have to be trimmed because available funds have their limit. Obscure relatives and long-lost friends are often the first to go when numbers are tallied. The guest list is directly related to the fifth point that needs consideration - the reception. Receptions can be costly or they can be a far more modest, self-catered affair. The way to avoid drama on the big day or regrets in the future is to take time before the event to sit down and plan.
